Community Collaborative Partnership

It's our way of connecting with you through our Community Collaborative Partnership.

We’re working on some really valuable ways to stay connected between therapy sessions. Remember, most of the growing happens outside of the therapy room when you are out and about living your life. You’ll be able to try out the interventions and share your comments and results with us all.

The definition of a science laboratory is a special facility where experiments are conducted. A Lab typically contains equipment, beakers, burners, and other tools necessary to complete an experiment.

_

Everyday Colab is a Community Collaborative Partnership for those wanting to engineer a more meaningful and intentional life on purpose!

_

You can expect a miracle, and, in the words of Arthur C. Clarke “Magic’s just science that we don’t understand yet.”

  • Colab
  • Interventions

The difference between Mr Clarke’s famous words and ours is that we believe in miracles rather than magic, and there is no trickery there!   As a member of Everyday Colab you will be able to enter through a doorway to a Lab where you can try out various interventions that have already been evaluated in a scientific lab. That’s why we use them! All our interventions have been tried and tested and have been proven to work! The interventions you’ll have the opportunity to try have a history of helping people create an intentional life that they genuinely want. Soon it will be your turn to try them out and give us feedback as to the success of the intervention in your life.

Intervention  is the act or process of intervening in a particular situation for a specific purpose.

What’s a Positive Psychology Intervention and how do I apply it to my life?

A Positive Psychology Intervention or PPI simply means the act or process of intervening in a particular situation for a specific purpose of improving the quality of one’s life. Let’s say if a PPI could potentially provide direction to remedy an annoying problem that’s been causing you unwanted behaviour and/or causing you anxiety, or simply keeping you from making a positive change in your life, you’d do it, wouldn’t you? Before you say YES, let me tell you, there’s a catch! It’s a small one, but for many it may has well be HUGE as it often seems insurmountable causing them great angst. I’m talking about commitment! There, I’ve said it! Any, and all PPIs must be done intentionally and regularly, even though at first you may not see much change taking place. Nevertheless, things are happening in your brain. New neural pathways are being laid down and old unwanted neural pathways are dropping off. PPIs have power within them! However, here’s a warning: Don’t be fooled by the simplicity of the interventions personally prescribed for you in therapy or those discussed here at Everyday CoLab. They ARE powerful!  It may sound ridiculously simple, or even too good to be true that such a tiny act could hold the power within it to change the direction of your life for the better, for good. But, you figure you’ll give it a go; you’ll give anything a go if it can make you change! Remember, stay committed and you’ll see and feel the miracle!

Before you say YES, let me tell you, there is a catch! It’s a small one, but for many it may as well be HUGE as it often seems insurmountable causing them great angst.

But, you figure you’ll give it a go; you’ll give anything a go if it can help you change!

A PPI will not work if applied half-heartedly. It needs a strong, intentional commitment. This is the part that people stumble over. Commitment is the thief that prevents people from experiencing the joy of success in change. I visualise PPIs as a burst of sunlight on a dreary day, it can change your mood quickly. It’s like a little seed that, once nurtured, can grow into the tallest of tall trees.

There’s no future without hope, that’s a certainty!

Once a person makes a strong commitment to truly follow the PPI prescription everyday, hope begins to blossom. But don’t expect to not do any work. You’ll do ALL the work! However, remember that we are stronger together!

When applying an intervention to your life, the best way, or rather, the only way, is to apply it consciously – intentionally and on purpose – until it becomes automatic. How long for? Everyone’s different, there’s no set time. Science has proven that when creating a growth mindset, you must be prepared to nurture the PPIs every single day until the process takes root at the implicit level which is below the level of awareness. That’s when you’ll see and feel the miracle!

I’ll be seeing you on the inside soon!
